Real User Review: Why I Swapped Whale Doctor for Godzilla (1S → Today’s 1X)
Product: Monsterpub 1S Youth path — Whale Doctor exchanged for Godzilla; soft-bridge to today’s 1X. Reviewer: Tou Tou, Monsterpub community member. Translated and lightly edited from her original post for clarity and store policy. Photos by Tou Tou.

What I expected
A friend tipped me off about “smart” toys, so I searched around and bounced between a lot of options. The moment I landed on Monsterpub’s little monsters, I lit up. Cartoon shapes, bright colors, nothing intimidating. The pitch covered fingertip control for solo play and long-distance partner control if you wanted it.
Compared with the health edition, the second gen, the smaller animal lines, and the honey-stick series, the 1S Youth looked like the better value at the time: a bit cheaper, still packing most of the features I cared about. I bought Whale Doctor without overthinking it.
What actually happened
Bluetooth pairing was flaky — connect, drop, reconnect. And in real use, Whale Doctor’s tail poked in a way I did not like. I talked with support, returned it, and swapped for Godzilla.
Godzilla was… yeah. The only downside for me was that it felt a little big. Everything else clicked. Bluetooth dropouts were still a known quirk on that generation (I chose 1S partly because the battery readout looked longer than the first gen). I used my Godzilla until it was worn out, hit a big sale, and ordered another one. That is how much I liked it.
Shipping arrived discreetly — ordinary outer packaging, nothing awkward on the outside. I mention that only because it mattered for privacy at home; this review sticks to the hardware story, not box photos.
What worked
Godzilla after the exchange. Once I switched from Whale Doctor, the shape and feel finally matched what I wanted. Slightly big, but worth it — I wore one out and rebought.
Value as a reason to start. 1S Youth made it easy to say yes without stretching the budget for every feature on the page.
Support that let me swap. Flaky Bluetooth plus a poky whale tail were enough to negotiate a return and land on Godzilla instead of giving up.
Today’s 1X bridge. The live store notes that Monsterpub updated 1S to 1X: softer material, a longer body, more stable Bluetooth (Cypress BLE 5.0), dual motors, 8 modes, and app control — oriented toward beginners who want the same U-shaped idea with fewer of the old connection headaches.
What fell short
Whale Doctor’s tail poked. That was a real deal-breaker for me in daily use.
Bluetooth on that generation could flake. Connect-and-drop happened; I treated it as a common quirk of the units I was shopping then, not a one-off.
Godzilla felt a little large. Not a reason to leave, but noticeable if you prefer something more compact.
How I handled it
I did not force Whale Doctor. I messaged the store, explained the Bluetooth and the poky tail, and swapped to Godzilla. When the first Godzilla eventually wore out, I bought another during a sale instead of switching brands. Everything stayed for at-home play only.
If you are newer to toys, go slow, use plenty of water-based lube, and stop if anything hurts. External play can be enough on its own; you do not have to rush insertion to “do it right.”
Who it suits
People who care about value first and are willing to exchange if fit is wrong; anyone curious about the Godzilla / U-shaped shape after reading older community posts; and shoppers who want discreet shipping plus honest trade-offs (size, older Bluetooth) instead of a perfect-five-star script.
I reviewed an older 1S-generation purchase path. If you are shopping today, the live Hero for this shape is the current 1X — same family idea, updated for softness, length, and a more stable Bluetooth connection.
"Whale Doctor’s tail poked and Bluetooth kept dropping, so I swapped. Godzilla was a little big — and I still bought it twice."

Individual experiences vary. Always use plenty of water-based lubricant and follow the product manual. For adult use only. This review reflects an older 1S-era purchase; today’s store Hero is the updated 1X.
Curious about today’s Godzilla-line U-shaped wearable? See the current Monsterpub 1X U-Shaped Remote Egg Vibrator — softer body, longer shape, dual motors, 8 modes, app control, and more stable Cypress BLE 5.0. Tou Tou’s story started on an older 1S path; 1X is the live Hero for shoppers now.
